Anguilla is the northernmost island of the Leeward Islands in the Eastern Caribbean. It lies around 150
miles east of Puerto Rico and nine miles north of St. Maarten/Martin. Although Anguilla is enough off the
beaten path to protect its character and exclusivity, the island is easily accessible by air or by sea.

Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA)
The main gateways are: St. Maarten, Puerto Rico, Antigua and St. Kitts.
St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) is serviced by most major international carriers from around the world. Visitors can take a seven-minute ﬂight over to the island using Anguilla Air Services or via a private executive charter.
From Puerto Rico’s Luis Munoz International Airport in San Juan (SJU), Anguilla is just a one-hour direct ﬂight via Seaborne Airlines, Tradewind Aviation, or by private air charter. Seaborne Airlines has codeshare agreements with Delta Airlines, jetBlue and American Airlines for seamless connections from the Eastern Seaboard of the USA.
LIAT provides one scheduled ﬂight per day into Anguilla.
From St. Maarten Anguilla is just a seven-minute ﬂight via Anguilla Air Services or private charter. Private air charters are also available to and from Antigua, St. Kitts and from various islands throughout the Caribbean. All persons traveling to and from Anguilla must clear Customs & Immigration at the Airport. The US$20.00 airport departure tax must be paid in cash.
Ferry service transportation to and from St. Maarten/Martin is convenient, simple and quick—about 25 minutes. There are two ferry options. The public ferry service operates from Marigot Bay on the French side; semi-private ferry companies operate from the Anguilla-St. Maarten Ferry Terminal across from the Princess Juliana airport on the Dutch side. All ferry services arrive at Anguilla’s Blowing Point Ferry Terminal. All persons traveling to and from Anguilla by ferry must clear Customs & Immigration at the Blowing Point Ferry Terminal.
The public ferry departs from St. Martin to Anguilla approximately every 45 minutes from 8:15 am to 7:00 pm. Ferries depart from Anguilla to St. Martin from 7:30am-6:15 pm. The regular one-way fare is US $20 for adults and children twelve years and older. Children under twelve years old are US $10.
A number of private companies operate comfortable and professional ferry services from the Anguilla-St. Maarten Ferry Terminal located across from the Princess Juliana Airport. Fares start from US$70 per person, one-way. Schedules are seasonal and operate from St. Maarten to Anguilla between the hours of approximately 9:00am and 5:00pm. From Anguilla to St. Maarten the ferries run from approximately 7:30am to 4:30pm.
All persons traveling to and from Anguilla by private boat or yacht charter must contact and clear Customs & Immigration at Road Bay in Sandy Ground, Anguilla.
The porters and van drivers who help transfer luggage from airport to ferry and off depend on tips, so it is advisable to have small bills on hand.
