Anguilla Tennis Academy

The Caribbean’s Finest Tennis Facility

Tennis has long been a popular activity for vacationers to partake in on Anguilla.  A long-time favorite sport among jetsetters and the posh crowd, tennis on Anguilla began in a few select resorts and villas, with two public  courts  in James Ronald Webster Park built provided by the sponsorship of the Anguilla Social Security Board.

In 1996, Mitchell Lake began a tennis camp on the two public courts in Ronald Webster Park, teaching local children the sport.  His clinic was named The Anguilla Tennis Academy.  At its inception there were  just 35 students, and Lake’s one mission: to expose children to the joys, discipline and rigor of the life long sport of tennis. Today, Micthell Lake’s dream has grown into a shared vision that has gained international attention.

Over the past 15 years over 3,000 children have participated in Anguilla Tennis Academy. Through both local and international support, the ATA now boasts a state –of-the-art tennis complex designed by award-winning architect Myron Goldfinger and Taylor Associates Architects, New York.   The ATA Complex has welcomed coaches, players and participants from Anguilla and from around the world.

Now at Blowing Point, the Anguilla Tennis Academy has six lighted, gated  hard-tru tennis courts, a pro shop, locker rooms and substantial parking. The ATA program itself has attracted international attention and sponsorship from world-class coaches, players and sponsors and is considered  “The Best in the Caribbean Region.”  Future plans include a grandstand stadium with seating for 2000 spectators.

The ATA Complex is open to visitors for court time, lessons, camp, clinics and pro-shop services including racket rentals. Hours are Monday through Saturday 8:00am – 6:00pm. Reasonable rates, and partners for play are available.
Summer Camp runs from July 15th through July 26th. International guests are welcome. Space is limited to 100 participants between the ages of five and seventeen.
