Expressions of Culture Beyond Expectation
Friday, June 3rd, The English Rose, The Valley, Anguilla – Anguilla formally announced its theme for the 2011 Summer Festival, “Expressions of Culture Beyond Expectation.” The launch party also celebrates the new Anguilla Summer Festival Website.
The Anguilla Summer Festival is unique to the region with boatracing, pageantry, calypso competitions and parades in a fun atmosphere that welcomes all to join in. One of the top 5 carnival destinations in the region, on the evening of July 29th our official opening of Summer Festival begins with a fireworks display and the first of many pageants. Sunday, July 31st the Heineken Boat Race kicks off our “world series” of boatrace. By J’Ouvert Morning on August Monday, Summer Festival is in full swing as pre-dawn dancers jam around The Valley and down to Sandy Ground for the largest beach party in the Caribbean region which will feature Carmi from Haiti. A full itinerary of events follows.
Summer Festival will be preceded by a number of events during the month of July to include the Calypso Quarter Finals, the Miss Tiny Tots Pageant and the Calypso Semi-Finals. Check our calendar of events for dates and times.

Monday, August 1:

Winners of the 2010 Band Clash, Pantha Vibes are ready to defend their title at Anguilla Summer Festival 2010. Last year troupes and fans followed with umbrellas as the band jammed "Make it Rain" through the streets of The Valley.
